Why I Love Harry Potter

Why I Love Harry Potter

Twenty-five reasons why I love the Harry Potter books:

1) He's got nappy hair, glasses and a scar on his forehead, yet he's still the coolest guy at Hogwarts.

2) Every book is an amazingly fast read, yet each reveals some remarkable textures upon re-reading.

3) The cast of characters is easily as complex as anything George Lucas has cooked up for the Star Wars universe.

4) The sense of wonder in the books can only compare to what I feel when I'm spending time in the Star Wars universe.

5) Albus Dumbledore.

6) Ron Weasley never takes any crap.

7) J.K. Rowling, among her many talents, can make up really cool fake words, like "muggles" and "quidditch."

8) Quidditch is just like soccer, except not stupid.

9) The rules of Quidditch make little sense, yet the game still has massive drama.

10) Gilderoy Lockhart.

11) Everyone in the wizard world is as confused about stuff in the normal "muggle" world, like telephones and money, as muggles would be about wizards.

12) The way that food instantly appears on plates in the Hogwarts dining hall.

13) One of the coolest villains in the history of fantasy, You-Know-Who, also known as Voldemort.

14) The twisted history of Voldemort and his diabolical rise to power.

15) Hermione Granger.

16) Ron and Hermione may hook up in future books, according to rumor, which would be adorable.

17) Even when Harry and his friends do the most awful things imaginable, they always turn out heroes in the end.

18) The pathos in Harry viewing his entire family of witches in the Mirror of Erised, and yet being unable to speak to them.

19) The fun in speculting about what will happen in future books...will Harry fall in love? Will he defeat Voldemort? Will the secrets of his family's past be revealed?

20) Rubeus Hagrid.

21) In the Harry Potter movie, Robbie Coltrane may play Rubeus Hagrid.

22) Every picture in the wizard world moves all the time. People wave at you and can even talk to you through their picture.

23) Cars can fly and behave like animals.

24) Unicorns exist.

25) If I could be any character in literature right now, I'd want to be Harry, because I would love to be magical.
