Q/A with John Doe PCC LIVE! Boss Hog Livin' In American Skin That 70s's Guy

That 70's Guy
After the upheaval of the sixties, we were left pretty much alone, almost forgotten about--handed a legacy that we didn't want, forced upon us by people of no connection to us. So--we took all our teenage angst, unrest, uncertainty, and fear, cranked up the music and said "The Hell With It, Let's Party While We Can".

Livin' In American Skin
The police have got it all wrong. Springsteen's "American Skin" isn't an expression of moral outrage; Bruce's tone is too sad and reflective for that. The song is not about the Diallo shooting, but references it in a chilling portrayal of an increasingly violent society.

Q/A with John Doe
John Doe's music is full of tough-minded compassion for those who suffer, whether from their own stupidity or just plain bad luck, and in performance his ability to communicate those feelings is remarkable; you don't feel like you're listening to music so much as engaging in conversation.

PCC LIVE! Boss Hog
If this is all Cristina Martinez has to offer as a lead singer, then one has to wonder just how much further Boss Hog can be dragged behind her occasionally capable, yet often failing, charms.

Noise Pop Chicago 2000
Matt Springer and Dan Wiencek venture deep into the heart of indie music brightness to listen to as much tuneage as they can stomach. Five nights later, they stagger forth from the haze to chronicle what they saw, then to sleep a lot.
