The Real Big Dance: Oscar 2000

March 2000

Yeah, so everyone's obsessed with NCAA basketball right now, with seeds and bubbles and dancing. Whatever. In less than one week, this will all be over, and Hollywood's big dance will finally arrive: the Academy Awards. Scheduled to be telecast on ABC on Sunday, March 26, this year's ceremony will see Billy Crystal return to the hosting spot. Given the list of nominees, there should also be a heavy potential for upsets, overdue accolades and maybe--just maybe--a few deserving winners.

The PCC staff have weighed in with their own votes, and you'll find their favorites in red on the list below. Beneath each category, click on the bouncing heads to read the expert opinions of our two resident movie maniacs, Vinnie Iyer and Matt Springer. They're more brash and opinionated than Dick Vitale shoved up Bobby Knight's ass. And you can quote us on that.
